Pakistani's take on India's world cup win!

First of all, a heartiest congratulation to all my Indian readers - it was a great victory and team India truly deserves it. They entered in the tournament as the favorites and ended up on the highest note.

I won't deny the fact that as a die-hard Pakistani supporter it was very painful to see Indian cricket players holding the cup and celebrating all around Wankhede Stadium. I must clarify that it wasn't painful because I have any ill-feeling with Indians or any grudges over Pakistan's defeat against them. It would have been equally painful to see Sri Lankan players celebrating had they won the cup. I wanted Pakistan to win and there were no second favorites. So any team except Pakistan - it pains a lot.

This is the time for Indians - they did a tremendous job all throughout the tournament. And this is the time for celebration and it makes no sense to me that in just six days they will be getting back on the job for IPL. I am glad no Pakistani players are participating in IPL because after such stressful season of cricket - all players need rest.

Coming back to the world cup victory - I believe it would not have been possible without two people:

1) Gary Kirsten - Ever since taking the coaching assignment of India, Gary had only one target i.e. world cup 2011. Gary was well aware that this was India's best chance to win the world cup, primarily because it was being played on Asian soil. He didn't mind losing two of the t-20 world cups and champions trophy - Indian batsmen were badly exposed on the foreign soil. Gary was very much comfortable with it and kept his prime focus on making Indians formidable on Indian soil.

2) Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar - I am sure almost all cricket follower will agree with me. Personally, I believe Sachin is Allah mian's blessing on the Indian nation. Not only the best cricket has ever seen but also a great human being. Except of fastest century, I don't think there exist any record which Sachin doesn't own. The only thing that wasn't there was a world champion's label. I don't have a shadow of a doubt that Sachin is India's lucky charm and even though they were few loopholes in the squad, it was Sachin's luck that made India win this world cup.

Foreign coaches have done a fair bit of job for India - first it was John Wright then Greg Chappel, who according to me did wonderful job for India but steps he took during his tenure was difficult to digest for people of India; followed by Gary Kirsten - who is the new Indian hero. I expect India to continue the trend of foreign coaches since Gary has decided to quit coaching job!
