The best time to expect from men in green!

At least this is what the history tells us. After 5 hours Pakistan will be facing South Africa in a slobber knocker. A win here means Pakistan's chances are still alive to make it for the final fours. If we look at things practically and sensibly we must not keep our expectations high from this team. The defending champions look timid and rusted throughout the tournament. Interestingly the history suggests otherwise.

It all started in 1992 when Pakistan had an extremely poor start of the WC; winning just 1(from Zimbabwe) off their first 5 matches. That was the time when the tale of cornered tigers began and Imran Khan with his inspirational leadership lead the team towards the championship title. Pakistan were down and almost out and just when everybody started believing that this team lacks potential of becoming the World Champions, out of nowhere the team stirked back and won the 4 most important matches of the tournament.

The tale of cornered tigers did not end their and 17 years later Pakistan were in similar situation and this time it was the second edition of World T-20 where Younis Khan's army was struggling badly on the English soil. And once again just when everybody started believing that this team lacks potential of becoming the World Champions, Pakistan bounced back hard and became the new T-20 World Champions.

After a dismal performance so far in the tournament it seems hard to believe that Pakistan can make a come back in the tournament. However, it won't be wrong to say that this is the best time to expect from men in green. Historically, they are most dangerous when they are down and almost out. A lot will be dependent on the way Afridi leads his men. Pakistan did not play bad cricket they just failed to unite and play. In some games they bowled poorly and batted reasonably, in others it was the otherwise. Now is the time to reunite and play like a team. St. Lucia will provide assistance to spin bowling, considering the fact that South African batsmen are not a big fan of spin bowling, the strong spin attack might just do the trick for Pakistan.

  1. THEY finally played well in all departments and forged a win , eliminated SA , and advanced england to semis , now we need a 2nd part of the double header to GO green as well, ENG to knock off outright NZL , nzl just need a Tie to advance, Somehow , one feels PAK could b well on the 4 semis.
